I bought used Infinity Reference 9612i (2-way) tested and working fine and also later there was a very good deal on brand new Alpine type S SPS-690A (3-way)

I have an Alpine MRV-F540 to power these as well as DLS UP6 components for the front coming in the mail. Alpines rated at 50w rms and Infinitys at 100rms.

Which 6x9s would you keep given the circumstances?

 

Hi, I have the exact amp you have, the Alpine MRV-F540, it's a great amp but I had the componant speakers Type S from alpine and didn't like them at all. I would suggest to keep your Infinity or grab another decent 6 x 9's. The MRV-F540 is rated at 50w rms @12v, a car produces 14.4v and that amp is 80x4 rms @ 14.4 which 14.4 is normal running mode.

The Infinity's have always worked well and sounded good for me.

 

hook em up see how both sound and keep whichever you think sounds the best. personally though i would keep the infinity over the alpine.
