I would get a JL 8w7 if I had to use an 8.

sx4life 01-20-2009 11:23 PM

jl over priced!

fox_racin4 01-21-2009 06:03 AM

You can easily do a dual 10" or dual 12", even a single 15" setup in that much space. Sounds like this would be more less what you want(lower tuning). The "wow" effect of 8's will wear off when you realize all the low's you're lacking.

This is all personal opinion of course. If you're set on 8's, by all means blast away.

lol mtx 8" handles only 150 to 200 i think infinity 8"

Someone has obviously never heard a DD1508 in a slot port box....let alone more than 2 of them. No they are not cheap. They will outperform quite a few companies 10's and 12's.

We have run a DD 1508 for a couple of years in our shop stereo. Everyone is amazed at "all that loud, deep bass coming from an 8"!??!!!
That's our wow factor at work.

There are more options then that in a 8", Kicker L7 8", rockford makes a P2 8", However I know the DD1508's are amazing woofers!! I wanted to build something using just 8's as well. but then got lazy..lol
