94 jeep cherokee system

i just got a 1994 jeep cherokee and will be getting a pioneer DEH-P7000BT HU and either 1 or 2 12" sub.. just wondering if i should get 6.5" comp speakers or a couple 6x9's to put in the doors.. and wut size amp to use to power these speakers..

i listen to pretty much everything and this will be for daily use.. not gonna be in any competitions..

i want it to sound good more than anything.. and of course be loud

I'm not 100% sure about the regular jeep, but the 94 grand cherokee SE had at least 5.25's in the door and 1" tweeters in the dash.

With some minor work i put 6.5" mids in the doors and tweets int eh dash.

6x9's might be a tough fit in the back...currenlty i'm still at stock...though you could look towards another set of mids there.

As for power, it kinda depends partially on how powerful your subs are. I had about 1300rms to a single 12 with 75x2 to the front stage and 35x2 to the rears. It does alright, though i'm upgrading the sub to about ~1700w....and have been lookin to upgrade the fronts (and in turn the rears) to about 150x4. Chances are the stock speakers won't like that all that much, but we'll cross that bridge when we get there.

k scratch the pioneer 7000 i'm gonna get the 6000 instead.. cheaper and i don't need blue tooth neways :P

but yea i was lookin to getting some pioneer 3-ways and putting about 150W into each of em.. then thinkin of getting a Kicker S12L5 sub and putting 1200W into it.. now just to find adequate amps to feed all this power.. and will i need to upgrade the alternator or get another battery?

I was running whats shown in my signature

Concept 75x2 + 35x2 4ohm
Viper 1200x1 @ 1ohm

It's all running off a 4ga power on a new but not overly special battery and stock alternator. I haven't done the big 3 upgrade or anything.

There's some dimming at 25 (what I consider max volume before things begin to distort). 24 is generally fine, so lack of knowledge and laziness has prevented me from upgrading wires under the hood, plus (to make myself feel better), the amp was only made to accept 4guage power/ground wire.

The bigger the better with speaker wire, but I suspect you could do the big 3 wires under the hood and likely be fine without any crazy battery or alternator.

I may be able to provide more info when my new amp comes in (hopefully Friday). It's a Rockford T1500-1BD - I'm hoping for 1600-1700w out of it. If you haven't got your setup by then, I'll let you know how much my jeep dislikes it.

alright sweet
yea my parents bought me my jeep for my grad.. so i won't get it till this firday neways :P
and i'm broke atm so i'm not gonna be able to drive it right away cuz of insurance and .. so yea..
then it'll be a lil while till i can get everything.. i'm gonna get the deck then the sub and amp then the speakers.. in the end i'm expecting to pay close to if not over $1000 on my system.. with 1200W going to my sub and 200W going to each speaker i'll most likely have to get a bigger alternator or a second battery..
and i'm not getting anything after my deck till i get an exhaust and a cold air intake to improve on gas mileage and power to run the bigger alternator if it comes to that..
