Okay, guys; I'm planning my first major install -- well, major for a rookie, anyways. I've done installs before, but nothing heavy. I'd like to work a bit with fiberglass, and am definitly deadening this car. In particular, I have a couple of questions:

1.
I have 70' of B-Quiet Extreme in my closet -- is that enough??

2.
I have an Alpine HU and an Alpine ERA-G320 processor. The processor is the problem. The actual heart of the processor goes either in the trunk or under a seat. The display unit is about 8" in length, 2" in height and perhaps 1/2" in width. It goes wherever is convenient. You can get a look at it here:

If anyone can give me an idea on where to put this, please let me know, as I'm stumped. In my old car, I had it directly below the HU on the centre console. But in the new EX, that would likely mean giving up my cupholders, which I'm not willing to do.

I was thinking about mounting it in the door, but I tend to play with this thing while driving, and that would mean taking my eyes off the road -- I know that I wouldn't be happy with it here.
ANY ideas would be appreciated.

3.
I'm using some of my old stuff, but am purchasing new crap as well. As the plan stands:

New Alpine HU.
Old Alpine ERA-G320
New 6" Type R components in the front.
Type R 6x9's in the back (these were a wedding present -- the wife didn't appreciate them)
2 New 10/12" Type R subs in the back.
Old RF Punch 200.4?? (I forget the actual model)
Old MTX Blue Thunder 300.2 for the subs.

I'm having a hard time finding pics of other 97 installs online. If anyone has any bookmarked pages I can take a look at, please let me know.

I've been reading and jamming with you fine people for a few years now, so I've learned a lot -- thanks to everyone. But this is again, the first time I'll actually be WORKING with what I've learned. I'd like to do something with the trunk besides just putting in an ugly (my opinion) carpeted box. Perhaps some glassing or vinal work, but again, I don't want to bite off more than I can chew. Any suggestions for a wicked install along those restrictions would be greatly appreciated.

1.70 square was enough for my extended cab S10. Someone with experience installing in civics (lots of people on here) will be able to tell you for sure.

2.I don't know if you are willing to do this, but you could either modify your center console, or make an entirely new one out of fiberglass. If you do that, you won't have a problem with mounting that display. I am building a new center console for my truck next month out of MDF and fiberglass and it will store a lot of things.

Thanks, Toolman. It looks like I'm going to have to modify something to accomodate the display somewhere -- though where; I'm not quite sure.

Hey Fazes; I had the 300.2 powering a pair of Boston's for a couple of years, and couldn't really use the amp's potential with them. I'm pretty sure it'd be enough; unless you know something I don't (likely).
