AB Class vs D Class

I'm in the middle of swapping out amps and I'd like use another Audison LRx2.4 to run a Focal 27kx (4ohm) sub. I've been told this amp will heat up quite a bit since its AB class!

Any thoughts!

It will probably heat up a little more than it's class "D" counterpart, but it's built to do it, as long as the load is proper and the wiring is adequate, there will be no problem, now whether you'd hear a difference between the two on a sub is a whole other can of worms.

I had an LRX1.1K, she heated up when it was upside down, but the second I put it right side up, it got no hotter than a couple degrees above room temp.

****edit****
I should note that it too was an AB amp
