I think it's more a matter of trying different design strategies in order to push the envelope.

I suppose you are right dukk... just remember what its intended application really is... I think it probably does the job it was designed to do, there just isnt much of a market....

Not too many theaters need 120db of output at 25hz....

Given the output you can get from it, it's actually a pretty good deal.(linear displacement in litres, per dollar spent)
Dan shoulda put on a nice baffle(like the one they had on their display @ CES 2004) on it though. It's pretty cheap that he didn't. Maybe a new vid will surface soon [img]graemlins/dunno.gif[/img]

In any event, you can't deny how awesome that motor and suspension is

Its for theaters that want to be able to produce alot of really low bass....
