I was thinking I wanted an indash DVD player that way every thing is up front

but then I thought if I have a DVD changer in the back I can load it with CDs, mp3 disks, VCDs and DVDs

any thoughts or suggestions

If you're getting an in-dash screen you might as well go for one that is DVD capable also.
DVD changer's are rather pricey on top of that. Unless you plan on changing DVD's quite regurlarly then use the in-dash for playing DVD's and add regular CD changer to it.
You can then use the screen for watching DVD's when you want to or keep a favorite DVD in there for demo purposes then use the changer for the audio CD's.
