Advice/Critique on upcoming install

Ok, so Friday I am getting an install done on my car (a '98 Grand Prix GTP) I haven't had any kind of system since 03, when I had a couple of 12" old W6s.

I'm going to list what I am getting installed and would appreciate any Critiques on any thing to change or add. I mostly listen to a Pop/Rock with some Rap/Hip Hop mixed in, essentially want the best overall system on the block if that makes sense.

head unit: Pioneer DEH-80PRS
Front Speakers: Hertz HSK 130
Rear 6X9s: Hertz ECX 690
Amp for Speakers: Arc 300W (Not sure the exact model)
Amp for Subs: Arc 1200W (Not sure the exact model)
Subs: 2 JL 12W7 in a custom box being built by them.
Silencing: Hushmat in the trunk, and both of the front doors.
Power: He is going to install a second large battery

Couple of concerns I had was that I haven't really heard of ARC or Hertz before, (but then again, I am not current on any car audio stuff at all) I am having everything installed by a place called "Car Stereo One" in toledo Ohio friday, so if I make any changes, I have do so soon. Thanks in advance for any advice.

The only thing I would potentially reconsider are the subs. I'd look at the current W6s.

ID agree as well as the sq overall on the new w6's is excellent and still have good output. w7s aren't as articulate and note oriented.. more output though!

I just think that for the power you have and the cost difference, the W6 is a better choice.

as you seem to like the Hertz speakers, maybe have a look at the Hertz HX300's. a great woofer that will give the W6 a run for its money and beat it if your techs build the right box

The funny thing is the w7s were the one thing is was certain I wanted when I wrote this thread. Lol. He just called and said they just got done building the box, I don't know too much about them, but aren't boxes built bc different subs need different space? Meaning in that box I wouldn't be able to use the hertz or w6 12s??

hx300 are excellent subs as well... great sq.. good output! shallow depth.

yes if the box has already been built to specs for the w7's then just go with them!
have you already purchased subs

I haven't paid for the subs yet, but I paid 300 for the box. Plus ive had this little spot in my heart reserved for the w7s since I first saw them in at car toys in Denver in 03.

The W7s aren't bad or anything - just trying to save you some buxx. If you want them then go for it, they should make you happy and if you want more power in the future, they should take it.
