Are all interconnects created equal?

Just wondering what people's thoughts on this are. I know a lot of people I've talked to say that "wire is wire" and "RCAs are RCAs"... just wondering if anyone has actually researched this and tested or if this is just an assumption?

To answer the topic question: NO.
Most people will relate to differences in build quality and esthetics more than sound differences though.
Me, I think most high end interconnect are overpriced for the average consumer. If you want to pay for nice ends and and fancy looking wire, I think that 100 bucks or so for a 5 meter length is fair.
Of course I've gone another route, but I doubt 99% of the people reading this could relate to what I've done.

is there a difference in the way 1 rca cable sounds to the next, i think that it would be ignorant to say that one is the same as the other. the differences however small exist, is it audible, maybe. i think of wire somewhat like an eq, wire, imo, can change the sound, much like an eq. the thing is, some people can hear the differences with an eq, some cant. for instance, haunz likes to use coat hangers and duct tape for signal transfer, now we all know that the thought of doing that would make the good lord rise from the dead, but you could do it, but some people wouldnt be able to tell the difference, it all depends on the person, and remember there are always those that dont want to hear a difference and there are those that will always insist that there is a difference. wire chnages the sound in its own individual way, some subtle, some invisible and some a bit more pronounced

fact is in double blind test the people who claim to hear a difference can't differentate any better than joe off the street
i remember reading an article in sound and vision with noel lee
they offered him a chance to hear his own cables he refused the offer
whats up with that
i think i still have the mag buried somewhere
