You know for all the years that I have been competing in car audio everyone has told me that sony is one of the worst brands to buy. Usually to do well in car audio you need to spend lots of money ( like me ) well that is not the case for my best bud sony boy he spends less money on his system and is just a bit louder then me. Well all I can say for him is sony rocksd no matter what anyone says and if I could start all over I would buy an entier sony system!

Watching 4 sony 10's beat everyone in an spl run (but 2 people) is one of the most impressive things I have seen in a very long time.

Way to go Sony Civic!

it's all in the install..

i bet some people could get a 10" sony with 200 watts louder than others with a <insert popular brand> with the same or more power..

I joined this forum just to reply to this thread, and all I have to say is that sony sucks plenty. I have bought one just to see what it can handle, and it can't handle anything. I sent it like 180 RMS from a JBL 180.2 and the thing missed notes and bottomed out all the time, meanwhile Sony claimed to have at 800 Peak, and 400 RMS rating on their sub. The gains were set properly, no bass boost or anything, no clipped signal. Just pure crap. If you are looking to buy something in the Sony price range, look into Pioneer.

But as for HUs and amps.....

In the past when the Sony ES line meant something, they could be one of the best products out there. This is when they brought out competition level products and were miles ahead of other companies. Now their Explod lines does what it's called, explode. Burnt VCs later and you have a paper weight fit for a king.

Oh yea, 15% product, 85% install.....

as sucky as sony is, ollies car is really loud!! that box is definitely working.as i've said before, box design(install is everything)
i'm loud because of my box.my front stage is acurate because of my kickpanels.learning what music is really supposed to sound like and
paying attention to detail.ask many questions.knowledge will lead to the outcome you choose....ooooooohhhhhhhhhmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm!!! fung choi will not work here boys& girls(pot the sub on the seat, and 6x9s on the dash)
