Alpine 7894 is mysteriously cutting out??
Hello,
I have an Alpine 7994 MP3 CD-RW Player and it mysteriously cuts off and on at times...mainly when I start up the vehicle after it has only been off for 20 mins or less. Does anyone know what would cause this? I was thinking it may be a loose power line but I doubt that, because then it would cut off frequently over bumps and what not.

There is a seperate power line to the battery, but it is fused near the deck.
Yeah good idea, it could be heat related. From what I remember it has not cut out when it has been cooler at night...but then again when it has cut, it wasnt blisteringly hot as well and the deck wasnt run for an extended period of time (more than an hour).

Might want to fuse that up by the battery, to protect the wire running up to the first fuse, not to mention the car, if the wire were to burn. Maybe try the blackout mode on the deck too. Are you running the deck power to any speakers, I have the same deck, using the preouts only, it seems to be ok. If you are running it with preouts only, maybe try turning off the IC for the deck power too. Good luck, nice choice of deck, too.

check your ground and ground wire for damage, if it is not getting a good ground it could cause the deck to over heat and shut it self down.
