Alpine 9856 will not turn on...
I had an aftermarket jvc deck hooked up and working fine, and today, replaced it with a 9856 alpine unit.
The alpine unit won't power up though.
I made sure I have the ground, battery, power and remote wires hooked up, as well as my rca's to my amp and the antenna. A question with the wiring though, for the yellow batter wire, apline says in the manual to connect it directly to the (+) post on the batter, I have connected it to the battery wire behind where the deck sits, is that fine?
And for ground, they say to bolt it to the chassis, once again though, I have it connected to the ground wire behind the deck.
My jvc was hooked up to these battery and ground wires, so I don't know if that is the problem.
I've checked all fuses including the one on the deck, and they're all fine.
Does anyone have any idea why the deck won't power on? I reset the unit as well like alpine says to in the manual.
Thanks

The yellow wire is constant (+) power, or battery power, black is ground of course, and red is accessory turn on. If that is not attached to a switched 12 volt positive (+), then the amp will not turn on. To check this, you could hook up the red wire to the yellow wire carefully. This should "wake up" the deck. You may have to press the power button on the deck. If that works, you need a test light or a multimeter to test for a 12 volt switched positive. The JVC should have had a red wire hooked up as well. What kind of car and year?

The car is a 99 grand prix.
All the wires are hooked up to where they should be, the jvc decks wires were the same.
But based on what FusionMadsen said about his harness, mine did not have a fused red wire, I got the deck used.
I guess I should buy a new harness, hopefully that solves the problem.
