I've sold Eclipse for 5 years and I've never really encountered the problems like you have. The new decks are really solid, for the price and the amount of features they have it is a great brand.

So in the last number of years then, with the new decks, you have absolutely zero business experience with them as you have not been a authorized dealer at all. So what you are saying is that because it was a turd for you back then it must be a turd now. Yet there are how many other dealers that did not have the same issues that you did? By the same token then that you view the eclipse line, we should all view the alpine line then. Fair is fair is it not. I guess the entire line of Alpine that started with the 7513, 7514 etc. that all came back for bad faceplate bulbs.......well, I guess the same thing must be true about the line now as compared to then.... or does this arguement of yours only work in your favour?

If you have a problem with getting a deck serviced that took 6 months, why did you not get it looked after quicker?

Lets not fight, why do people want to fight so often - so jumpy. In other thread I posted my experience with Kicker as OS wanted some feedback and obviuosly from more than one person. Someone accused me of making up crap. I dont even bother with people who seem to only want to be aggressive, I wish this forum could take pride in being patient Canadian, as there so many other forum full of "fighters".

Everyone posts their experiences so that the OS can make a decision. I also posted my experiences about two Eclipse decks - 8445, and some other one I believe were the two. Both were great for price and features, but both glitched somehow internally that the functions kept coming and going as if the decks were magicians and had a mind of their own and kept making features disappear and come back, also both had horrid MP3 playback sound quailty.

I've ran several Alpine units since early 90's, and never had any problems, but with one during the time when CD-R's were just coming out and the deck at the time did not like to read them properly and kept freezing up, and at the time burning speed for CD-R's was like 2 (lol), so high speed was not the factor. No other issues whatsoever with other Alpines.

In total, I've gone through maybe around 5-6 Alpines, 2 Eclipses, and 1 Kenwood back in 1992.

Let me also clarify some stuff, feature wise the Eclipse CD7200 is amazing and for the price you cant find a better choice if your looking for those features(that's why i am keeping it), but the build quality is equal (not to say inferior) to the mainstream deck you find in big surfaces. My wife have a Sony deck and it feels a lot tougher, the face plate go drop (someone try to steal her system, but were interrupted) and except for some scratches it's in top shape, not sure the Eclipse would have survived.

Having owned a few Eclipse decks, I never encountered a single issue. I found them to be quite solid and definitely feature rich. I was very happy with them to be honest. I've owned a Pioneer, Kenwood, Alpine and 2x Eclipse and the only one I had issues with was my Kenwood. I believe this comes down to personal experience/opinion once again.
