Alpine DIn to RCA convertors?
#11
Pinhead...I need (I think) the + and - 15 volts to run the accessory component (a dash mount line-level gain control - what Orion called a Dual-Amp Balancer). Can I simply run the + to a switched positive wire and the - to electrical ground?
Thanks again.
Lawrence.

Hey Dukk...I just finshised hard wiring my RCAs to the DIN cable...single ground (center pin) on the DIN plug to the ground on each RCA and the pin on each side of the center pin (yellow and white) to each positive on the RCA...but it didn't work...did I do something wrong.
Thanks

^ You say you used the 'centre pin' for the negative on the RCA. Pinhead seems to have indicated that it should be the '12 o'clock' pin that is the negative. Is that the one you used or did you use the actual centre pin?
Dammit - where did my diagrams get to?

Sorry Dukk and Pinhead...I was getting your earlier mssages confused...I am wiring up a old Orion line-level controller that only has a DIN out. I used the 12 o'clock pin as the negative (the 12 o'clock pin is the "middle" pin of the five...I should have said "middle" and not "center" to avoid confusion). I simply want to be able to control the line level going to my sub amp. Maybe the Orion line-level controller requires power...
