////Alpine HDA5460 Purchase (16GB HD)
#1
I am going to buy this 16 gig HD unit to add to my CDA9835 HU.
Any comments or concerns before I do this?
Anyone have one or played with this unit?
I did a search and found nothing.
I am hoping Dave has some input because I value his opinion on Alpine gear . I will be picking it up on Wednesday. On a plus side my Toyota is double din so install will be a breeze.
Thanks in advance to any replies.

Hmmm talked to a couple local dealers about them indash hard-drives. He never had much good to say about them. The main guy i asked carried eclipse, and i was always interested in hte alpine like yourself. I was more so checkin the price, only to find out holy moly. I went on to be told that well in his opinion they weren't as great as they sounded.
Rather sensitive to temperature and what not. And he mentioned some other stuff - possibly something to the effect of vibrations (although i might be making that up). All in all, he pretty well killed my ever wanting any indash harddrive player.
I'm not sure if i'd be any further ahead, but if i do go that route or similar, it'll be with a Neo Car Jukebox. Sets up just like a cd changer, and i dunno why, but just seems like a better idea. Not to mention probably half the price with double the amount of room. Or more if you feel you need it.
