yeah, I don't know why Alpine abandoned the 512 colour button feature like my 9833 has. They could have used the 4 colour scheme they have in europe at least. I'd love to see some limited edition old school, c.1990, cd/dvd players come out with some of the features of the new decks...that'd be cool. All black, green chicklets on the right, but with 24 bit dacs, mp3/wma/aac abilities, and ai net or optical out. ahhh nostalgia.

I was looking at getting the 9887 but have never owned an Alpine deck before. Strictly Kenwoods.
I really liked the Pioneer DEH-7800mp, But while playing with a friends deck a year back I noticed that if you have the random play feature on using a mp3 cd, if you manually select to to the next track, it goes to the next numerical track instead of the next random track. But if the song plays to the end it goes to the next random track.
Does this deck have a similar issue? Because it bugs the hell out of me.
