Alpine type s 12" troubles

Im very new to car audio, as i just got my freind to help me wire in a sound system for me in my 2002 dodge ram 1500 truck, im running a alpine deck CDA-9856, through a 600 watt dual cahnnel sony xplod amp, to two alpine type s twelvers. They emat of this question is that the sound system all hooked sounds really shitty. I dont know how to make it sound better considering I am new to this, i will put a youtube video up sometime, but does anyone have any ideas to why these subs rattle and sound so badd? any help would be greatly appreciated.

Are they new subs? Alpines in general are pretty good sounding subs. Were they bolted in flat and in a star pattern when you tightened the screws? Or did one side get tightened, then the other? This couldve warped the basket. Are you getting good output before they "rattle"? It could be them bottoming out their suspension or your amp sending audible distortion into them. What gauge power and ground are u running? Is the ground secured tightly to a bare metal surface?

Do u know what load(ohms) they are putting on the amp? What is the RMS output of your amp? Are u running your subs stereo or mono? Do u have the gain(input sensitivity) on the amp cranked?

There's sooooo many variables it's hard to diagnose without physically seeing and testing. You could pay a shop to look over it and give u some pointers, but some shops won't even look at something they didn't install. if you can answer all these questions we may be able to help.

Get you a volt meter, and see what Ohm the subs are.
