Alpine Type S Help.

I need help on suggestions for an amp to run 2 10" Alpine Type S 2x2Ohms. I've been looking at Power Acoustik Amps but I'm pretty sure they are too much to push these subs. Thanks.

What kind of budget do you have, I should be able to find something for you.

That pair of subs is generally wired up as a mono 2ohm load ( voice coils in series and drivers in parallel ) .....a decent quality D class mono sub amp that will produce 500 - 800W RMS will be your best bet to run them.

I wouldn't suggest a Planet Acoustik amp myself, I have never used one but I haven't heard too many good reports on them.....other brands you could look at include Alpine, Clarion, Eclipse, Kenwood, JL Audio, MTX, Orion, Pioneer or Rockford Fosgate. Each one of these companies makes an amp that will do the job for you and are good or better quality equipment......

One more thing to remember.....It is very important to have a good enclosure for your subs.....a big amp will not make up for a cheap box and a really good box will not need as much power for the same output......

HTH

Money really isn't an issue. I don't need anything with all the bells and whistles, but something that is good quality and isn't going to break down or blow my equipment.
