Alpine Type X 5 1/4" components?
Anyone heard the SPX-137A's before, these ones:
Can you give me any feedback on the SQ of them, bass response, smoothness of the tweeter, etc? Thanks!

I have quite a bit of time with the SPX-177r's and they are a great sounding driver set...
That being said, they have a mellow sound, that isn't too harsh. The tweeters aren't great off axis, and the midbass below 80 hz is a little weak. above 100hz, and they sound great.
The Midrange is natural, and warm with quite a bit of clarity...
regards, Mark

ive got the SPX-177A mids in right now... due to a problem with a crossover and tweeter im running some clarion junk in the mean time, but when i had the set all tuned and in they were quite nice.
i agree with the mellow description, imo, they arent too harsh anywhere, and with a sub thats crossed at about 80-100hz they are a very nice front stage.
just dont pay full canadian retail for them, lol.
