I'd say something that does 1000 to 1200 watts RMS.
The TypeR's have a 500WRMS rating...
You'd need a pair of 4 ohm DVC woofers - wire them in parallel for a 1 ohm load. Then match them with an amp that does 1000W @ 1 ohm. Or, get SVC 4 ohm woofers and wire them in parallel for a 2 ohm load, and find an amp that does 1000W @ 2 ohm.
Don't quote me on this, but the amp that will do 1000W @ 1 ohm will probably be a little less expensive than the 1000W @ 2 ohm.
I think most would agree that you wouldn't notice a difference in sound between the two. The 2 ohm operation might allow for longer playing time... depends on the quality of the amp.

Perhaps the Kicker ZX1000.1.
I'm currently powering a single 10" TypeR with a Memphis 5 channel amp. Its getting 600W @ 2 ohm. The sub is in a simple sealed box that I built. Nothing fancy, but it sounds great.
I'd consider sealed. Two 12" subs with that much power will generate a lot of bass. And it a vehicle with as much space as yours, I think the sealed would work great.
You could, and I stress could, build two boxes. A sealed box for one sub, and a ported for the other. Just to test out the sound of each setup. If you get single voice coil 4 ohm subs, then the amp will output 500W to a single sub. So, try one sub in a sealed box for a while. Then try the other sub in a ported box for a while. Don't run the subs simultaneously, cause it would defeat the purpose of the 'test'. Determine which sound you like best, then build a nice finished box for the pair... I know, a lot of work, but it might be worth it.

i would definitely go with an amp over 1000w rms something like 1200-1500 the reason is this i'd rather buy a new sub than a new amp much cheaper and a lot less work involved but even still you always want to have more amp power than sub power less distortion on the speakers when near or at maximum volume plus less stress on the amp
