class D is more efficent(sp) then class A or class AB. now ive noticed that SQ people you class A and Class AB amps. now im not say that they dont use D's, just mainly A and AB. spl people you D because they can get more power from pulling less amps. there are also class "x" but thats just another marketing thing, there the same thing as class D's.

For a DD i would you a class D if you want lots of power(1000+ WRMS). but if you only have 1 amp, and thats for a sub, then a AB would be fine. oh and everything effects class A's it seems.

now this is all from what ive seen/heard/tried, so im not 100% sure on anything.

hope that helps abit

A class D is only at max efficiency IF the power handling is used at its peak. Under that, it is the same efficiency than a class A/B.
