Might have fried it when running it at a .6 ohm load.

Those BXI series CANNOT do anything lower than 1 ohm daily

Haha, yeah.

That sucks. It ran strong for probably 6 months, though.

So, it's not unusual for it to only be going into protect under high load?

Did you rule out Voltage issue? It would be my guess.

Yeah, just because I tried a different amp and it worked fine. Plus, I got normal reading with my voltage meter, and tried it with and without my capacitor.

Okay, scratch that.

Another amp is doing the same thing.

When it kicks out, my capacitor reads 8-9 volts.

Would this be causing the amps to go into protect?

And, is it possible my battery is just killed from 2 years of abuse?

And, the battery is fairly old itself..

*edit*

Took the voltage reading from the battery itself, and it's a constant 14v.

So, more than one amp is doing it.

Voltage doesn't seem to be an issue.

None of the speakers seem to have anything wrong with them.

Any other ideas?

Double check your wiring very carefully for a loose or corroded connection.....if they are all good it sounds like larger power and ground wire for you.....

Yeah, I just realized someone mentioned that earlier in the thread. I'm going to go check right now. If that's it, I'm going to kick myself for being stupid.

If you do, would you mind posting a video?? We can always use a good laff around here.....

I wouldn't get too mad at yourself, it happens to all of us at least once.....

Wiring seems good, from what I could tell from a check thorough enough to take from the time I last posted to now.

This is really stumping me..

You mention that your voltage on your cap reads 8-9 volts....

And then you say its okay?

Voltage at the battery itself doesn't mean ... what matters is the voltage and amperage getting to the amplifier itself
