Don't bother with running mono.
Running 4 ohm mono will give you the same power as 2 ohm stereo - 800wrms total
Stereo: 2 x 400wrms @ 2 ohms
Each 4 ohm Voice coil receives 200 watts. Grand total of wattage between all 4 coils adds up to 800 watts.
Mono: 1 x 800wrms @ 4 ohms
The amp will see two 8 ohm loads and give 400WRMS to each load. Each of the 4 ohm coils that makes the 8 ohm load will get 1/2 of the 400wrms. Therefore, each coil will get 200wrms. Grand total of wattage between all 4 coils adds up to 800 watts.
Wire it in stereo. Its easier. There are no power gains with mono. But you need to wire in series with mono (I'm not a fan of series when it can be avoided)
