Amplifier compatibilty question - any opinions welcome

Hi guys, Im not long into this audio game but have done some research and find myself with Infinity Kappa 5x7's in the front of my car, with an Infinity Kappa Perfect 10.1 sub in the boot (rear door speakers will run off the HU when I get it) My question/problem is that the front speakers are 2ohm and the sub is 4ohm. There are loads of amps out there that can run either 2ohm or 4ohm but Im unsure on whether you can run part of your system(speakers) at 2ohm and the rest(sub) at 4ohm?

The Kappa 5x7's are 100w rms and 300w max(2ohm), and sub is 350w rms(4ohm) and 1400w max, to help out here.

Are there any amps out there that are recommended for a budget of around £100-150, so $200-$300 USD?

I am interested in this, but iIm not sure about the whole 2ohm/4ohm thing > http://caraudiosecurity.com/shop/product/products_id/2911.html

I have heard that some amps automatically change over to 2ohm if necessary and some have a toggle on them, none of which is explained in the spec for this sub.

Can you guys shed some light? Any info/recommendations are more than welcome.

If your subwoofer is a Dual Voice Coil model, it can be wired in series to put a 2ohm load on the amp. That way it will keep the load even for each channel. Someone with more knowledge can answer as to whether or not the internal components of an amplifier is able to handle two difference loads simultaneously from different speaker configurations. I would be surprised if they did not.

Most 4 channel amplifiers will operate in the mode that you are seeking, that being 3channel, 2 channel at 2 ohm and channels 3/4 combined at 4 ohm. Amplifiers are designed from the outset to do this. Pioneer and Kenwood both make some great 4 channel amplifiers that would suit this application.

Thanks for the quick responses guys. I dont think the sub is dual voice coil, judging from the spec info (http://www.infinitysystems.com/car/products/product_detail.aspx?prod=KAPPA%20PERFECT10&CheckPr oduct=Y&Language=ENG&Country=GB&Region=EUROPE)

Will the JBL I mentioned work? It states "3 channel mode: 2 x 104W RMS + 284W RMS for sub", which is pretty much what I need, but its the impendance I was worried about, as it doesnt state what they are in tri-mode.

If anybody can confirm that it will definetely work, or recommend a similarly priced amp that will definetely do the trick, please do I think 284rms is enough for the sub tbh and dont want more than near 100rms for the fronts.
