Ok guys I need you to put your ~ help for dumbies hats on~ I have been reading about subs and their enclosures until things are blury and I still dont get to much [img]graemlins/dunno.gif[/img]
Question 1: Does a larger enclosure with a given sub lower its frequency?
Question 2: How do you know what frequency is ideal for your sub, or is there no such magic #?

#1, Yes this is mostly true for sealed boxes, more so than ported ones. But with large ported boxes it is easier to get a lower tunning frquency due to the fact that you need less port length with the same amount of port area.

#2, I don't feel there is a magic # for tunning a box myself. For SPL it is a what ever is loudest in your vehicle. And for SQ most people like to keep the tunning around or below 30Hz.

So if you were going to build a sealed enclosure for SQ how would you know the size it needs to be to reach the desired frequency? Is it experience or chance (trial and error) or is there a formula?
