I was thinking about doing this as a winter project, not really any point of trying to do it before finals. Who here has stripped an interior to sound deaden it. I just like vehicles that are extremely quiet, so I was planning on putting my car in the shop after finals and taking out seats, console, carpet headliner and putting a layer of Brown bread or 2. It's probably way too much trouble to do the trunk now but I might try to do the wheel wells. I want to do the door panels really good. I will probably just get a whole shop pack.
Who has done this before? And what is the best way to do the doors.

I've done a little, I pulled out the seats and carpet, put 3 layers on the whole floor.
I put 3 layers on my door skin, inner(my 8's were shaking that baby up) and 1 layer on the plastic inner door panal, I have a little behind the speaker in the door also, I really just did the area behind the speaker.
rear door got a layer, rear cab wall got 2 layers.

even the fire wall got some, I had to reach up and put it in so I maybe got 3/4 of the way up it.
the hoodliners next, and the roof, I have 35 feet of brown bread for that one.

I used extreme b quite on all surfaces [img]graemlins/thumb.gif[/img]

all I really hear now is the engine, its frickin loud and a little wind noise, above 130 or so.

as soon as the hood liners on it should improve in that area... I will need to do the fire wall as well I suppose. [img]graemlins/@bow.gif[/img]

all in all it was worth the money,got rid of teeth chattering rattles... my cab doesen't have a tinny sound to it no more..

oh ya its a F-150 ext cab, 4 door..

I did the floor of my Jeep with BrownBread, doubled up in the footwell area, it was very easy to put on. Did my doors also, even though I don't have any speakers in them. That stuff sticks very easily, when the temperature is warm anyways. [img]graemlins/thumb.gif[/img]

I've got 150 ft^2 of deadner in my car, maybe more. Only thing I can hear is a little road noise from the fire wall and I ain't going to rip it apart.

I've had everything from the dash back out.

That's pretty impressive for an f-150...I just spent 3 days in one on site and they rattle pretty bad.

Chillin' in the woodwork

I have about 400sq ft of Brown Bread in my Jeep. Everything has been covered with 2 layers. If you compete in Db Drag, you can only have 2 layers or 5 mm thick of the stuff in any given area. I have pictures of it if you wanna see it. I also have 2 shop rolls of the stuff if you wanna buy some. They are unopened, $250 each.

I've started with 35sq foot of Brown Bread. I did the whole trunk. I had some dynamat in the front doors/ trunk in a previous install. But I'm also looking to strip out the interior and getting down and dirty with some more brownbread. Gonna get the whole floor and front/rear doors. I dont think I'm feeling brave enough to rip out the dash, but I'll do my best to go as high up the firewall as possible.

I have striped every panel out of my car.. I have ~200ft of damping in it right now.

I'm in the process as well. Pulled out the trunk panels, the back seat top and bottom, rear deck, side panels, door panels, carpet, seats, headliner and center console. I have:

4 Dynamat extreme bulk packs
4 Dynamat extremeliners
1 Dynamat hoodliner
2 Dynamat tacmats
6 Dynamat Dynaxorb
6 Dynamat extreme Door kits (equivalent to 2 bulk packs, same stuff, different size sheets that are easier for doors)
2 Dynamat Dynaliners

Hopefully that will be enough.
