Anyone ever installed subs in a truck? i have an '00 dodge ram that i want to put subs in... i just dont' want to take up the pack seat. i already have everything but the wiring and the deck and i was talking to some people about putting a custom fibreglass box under the back seat just wondering what anyone else has tried... thx.

in the above setup I have a 4" riser on the seat
in the lower pic the seat is stock hieght and the sub on the hump is an old kicker ks80 substation
you can also build 12x12x6" seled boxes and slid em under the front seats with an 8" in them (had 2 pg xmax 8's like that for a while)

in my truck it was regular cab and since I needed alot of leg room and didnt want to sacrifice any, I just removed the middle seat and made a box / armrest in one... It hit pretty hard for a 10" sony sub, especially since you are in such a enclosed area... Heres a pic from my cardomain page..

here’s a page with some very good documentation on building a sub box under the seat of a quad cab, he also has instructions on building a 4” seat riser to get some more room under there
http://www.frontiernet.net/~jbenner/Subbox.htm
if building a box seems like too much, I’d go with the jlaudio stealth boxes, you can’t go wrong with JL audio products
you can also get a premaid q-logic box for a single 12 if you got a quad cab
http://www.crutchfield.com/cgi-bin/S...p;I=044CDTX1++
add a 12 that works in the space and you’re set to go
mtx also makes premade boxes for under the back seat of a ram you can get it with or with out woofers installed, you can even get one with a built in amp
http://www.mtxaudio.com/caraudio/pro...res/DRXP20.cfm
JL audi also makes a prefab empty box, it fits one single 12 on the drivers side under the rear seat
http://www.jlaudio.com/stealthbox/va_ramext.html
and of course there’s the before mentioned stealtboxes
http://www.jlaudio.com/stealthbox/ramcentercushion.html
http://www.jlaudio.com/stealthbox/ramctr2.html
http://www.jlaudio.com/stealthbox/ramextendedcab.html
there a a lot of choices out there, go down to your local car audio shops and tell em what you want to do and see what they recommend……..
I'm gonna put in a plug here for direct audio in Prince Albert, I've gotten some work done there before and have been very happy with the results

wow. those look really good. thanks for the suggestions guys!
i have 2 10" infinity subs and 2 MTX amps, one for speakers and one for subs then a capacitor to go under the seat. I already have guys that want to install it, they already did the stereo in my car so I know them pretty well and they give me an awesome deal. Since my truck is yellow we came up with the idea of custom Fibreglass box, painted yellow to match the truck to fit under the seat holdin gmy amps and subs and all but because fibre glassing can be a lengthy and more expensive process i want to look at other options and thse work out awesome. i am definitley going to show the guys and get their opinions now!

You can buy custom molded enclosures for many trucks look into them
Jl audio stealth
MTX thunderform
magnaform (this would be your best bet having all your product allready)
Might be others too? not sure
