A lot of manufacturers do that. The model number corresponds to the the maximum output at 14.4 or sometimes more. I've never understood that........... well I do marketing wise .......... but once people find out, it is what it is. So what's the point? Consumers are pretty smart now-a-days in doing their homework.

I guess my point is specs/ratings are an important FACT about the product. If you buy a bucket to hold x volume of water, as per the manufacturers advertising, get home and it's not what they say.......... CREDIBILITY goes down the drain, regardless of how great the rest of the features of the bucket are. The bucket is possibly doomed !! In todays world of the internet forums and such, EVERYONE luvs to gun stuff down. Stuff like bad specs get eaten up and posted all the time. Just look at this thread as a prime example.

^The model number is not the only thing missleading. It's the actual RMS specs that are really PEAK specs.

Just because you blow things up............. doesn't mean they are no good. I have known a lot of "blow-up" people over the years...........most of them blew up sh*t because they had no clue what they were doing or were too lazy/cheap to do it right.

I'm not saying that you are like that (kygreen) cause I have no clue who you are but I just take comments like that with a grain of salt. You can blow up pretty much anything........................... as we recently saw someone do with a TREO CSX that are capacble of handling tone bursts from any commercially available amplifier on the market (as posted right on their TREO's web page). As long as it's man made......... it can be ruined........... but that doesn't definitively define something as junk.

hmmm...all their amps say cea certified and they are listed members(not sure what that entails though). Maybe if the Massive employee or owner can post a few certificates of some of their amps we can all feel better about them. The amp's designs are very tasteful if nothing else.
