Anyone in Kanata (Ottawa) help me with a brake bypass on a 2008 Santa Fe/Avic Unit

Typically you remove a trim pannel, pop some tabs to slide the HU out and then the wiring harnesses are right there...
agreed, it's not the 'dash' but the entire trim panel...

Here are pics I took while installing the system in my wife's Santa Fe.

The trim panel is very hard to get to. If you can, pry it from in between the ignition panel and the trim molding. Apparently you can remove the ignition key panel first and then get to the trim molding.
However, that didn't work for me. I had to take the whole glove box apart (very tedious and time consuming) and from the inside, I could get to the spring loaded clamp of the trim molding to the very right side. With a pair of pliers, I managed to squeeze and push it, which gave me the first little bit of prying space. I then kept prying toward the steering side.

Once that panel is removed, all is easy. As a trick, I broke off the first clip beside the ignition. This way, I can fairly easily remove it starting on that side.

They are out a ways, but Shamus Customz would be my recommendation if you don't mind the drive down Bank St south.

This is really helpful, and the reason why I am looking for someone else who knows what they are doing to do it.

Anyone know the cost of Shamus Customz?

the problem is that its illegal to bypass it. if a shop does it and you plow into someone...or hurt someone. we can be held resonsible. thats why we wouldnt do it when you were here.
what I can do is. have you come to my place. ill take your unit out and show you how to do it. then re-install everything. for a small fee.
then you are the only liable person

I understand the risk involved. I have given quite a bit to future shop over the last little while.

Anyone else out there let me know...will leave this open unless I hear from someone. Either post back here or PM me with your cost.
