bypass side brake

bypass side brake
hi there.
i recently purchased a dvd/monitor combo by the brand of 'american boss' from ebay.
It has a wire labeled 'side brake'. The installation manual doesnt explain how to install this unit (i guess that what u get for buying cheap). Anyway i looked it up and i assume that this wire is supposed to be conected to the hand brake so you cant watch dvds while driving (i didnt realise it is illegal in america).
so my question is how do i by pass this safety function.
I've read in some post that you need some sorta toggle switch or something? or some people say just ground it?
any help would be greatly appreciated.
