Anyone know old Rockford?

It was capable of it but it is really not recommended. Even bridged into 4 ohms most of those amps were closer to the 700w rms mark or more. I had rubn some of them that way before and while we did have the odd failure, it was done with the customer fully aware of the pitfalls of doing so. Make sure that this amp has a super good ground.

Thanks for the replies guys, I've been given mixed opinions weather or not it was one that could and since the manual never mentioned anything about it I thought I would ask the pros. I think I will just run it in stereo to be safe until I can find a match for it. Anyone have a grey 500.2 they want to part with LOL

250rms x 2 @ 4ohm
500rms x 2 @ 2ohm
1000rms x 1 in to a 4ohm load

Manual might have been mistaken or I might be. Mike was the rep at this time, perhaps he can chime in as well as I no longer have my old info handy on this amp. Most of the amps from this time had a model # that indicated the bridged 4 ohm output power IIRC. From what I remember it to be is this.
125w rms x 2 into 4 ohm
250w rms x 2 into 2 ohm
500w rms x 1 into 4 ohm
125w rms x 2 into 4 ohm
250w rms x 2 into 2 ohm
500w rms x 1 into 4 ohm

There are two very different RF 500.2 and my original comment/advice was for either one.
There's the big 1998 model 500.2

And the smaller 2001 model 500.2
http://www.rockfordfosgate.com/scripts/rightnow.cfg/php.exe/enduser/fattach_get.php?p_sid=ZRhat6li&p_tbl=9&p_id=313&p_ created=1083354353
Again, either will do 2ohm mono but at the expense of more heat and shorter lifespans.
