I didn't want to just send him a PM in case somebody else brings this question up again.

Someone told me that Avic-N2 has all the capabilities as Avic-N1. So I'm interested in DEQ-P8000 but at the bottom of the page for compatability is only has Avic-N1 and no Avic-N2.

So that would be my first question. Did you guys make a mistake on the site and it is compatible with the Avic-N2?

Then to create a bit more confusion I go to AXM-P8000 whose description is "Multi-Channel Processor Controller for DEQ-P8000 when used with AVIC-N2, AVIC-N1, AVX-P8DVD or
AVX-P7300DVD"

So it is compatible with Avic-N2? Also controls for the 5.1 have to be done from that seperate thing and can't be from the screen?

Thanks

The AVIC-N2 is essentially an AVIC-N1 with updated software for navigation & some other small features.

It looks like Pioneer USA has neglected to mention the AVIC-N2 in the list of products that require the AXM-P8000. Both the AXM-P8000 & DEQ-P8000 are required for multi-channel processing for the AVIC-N2.

You can also verify this when looking at the AVIC-N2: http://www.pioneerelectronics.ca/pna...etailComponent

All audio functions will then run through the AXM-P8000 & not the AVIC-N2.

Hope this clears things up & let me know if you have any other questions.
