Audio Control ESP-3
#2
I have one. It's an ESP-2 with a center channel output. It has single left and right stereo inputs and outputs for left and right stereo, and center channel. It has bass, mid and treble levels for the l/r outputs and level for the center. The wired remote control has a spatial restoration level and a center channel level. What the spatial restoration does is remove signals common to the left and right channels. So it basically removes mono information in order to highlight the stereo signals. This can create the illusion of a wider soundstage. I have found that it can help with kick panel installations to lift the height of the stage and widen it a bit, especially with tweeters. Turning the level up too high though destroys the center image. So, that's where the center output comes in. If you have a center channel amp and speaker, this can help. It's a neat toy that can sometimes be useful but is generally poo-pooed on in competition (but time alignment is perfectly acceptable; not quite sure about that one). I like mine and find it useful.

It is a spatial restoration thingy(yes, I know, quite technical). I have one here(hasn't been in a system in quite a few years).
Understand what it is and does before you decide if you want to buy one.
here is a link to the owner's manual to the ESP-2(they don't have a link to the 1 for the esp-3), but as mentioned, it is essentially an esp-2 with a center speaker output/volume control.

Take a look at that.
