AudioControl Sensor?

yeah I meant the sensitivity on the outside of the unit...if they are calibrating the sensors to the units then they should just take out the sensitivity **** all together and just used a fixed value resistor for that so it can't be played with

Excellent idea for SPL Shocking, but when you set for RTA and use it for tuning output voltage and using pink noise, etc... you need it. That's why it's there. But I do know what you're saying and I agree, like I said that's why I've taken on the policy of taping it at shows, so it can't be screwed with. At least that way you know it's the same for everyone.
Lee, and everyone else, in the thread about the Autossey show, remember I said I had a little surprise for everyone? Well, that's it ! I just got off the phone with Karz Electronics and my meter was shipped out today with the new sensor. It's on it's way and I'll have it for Jimmy's show. So I will have it for every show this year and we will be the first division with IASCA worldwide to use the new sensor in competition.
I'm working very hard to make the Red Ball show... I'll know in about a week. I've been booked by IASCA to run the IdBL portion of an event in Fort Drum, New York on the 19th. If all goes well and I can get done with that show at a decent hour, my plan is to drive back to Belleville that night (3 hour drive) so I can make Adam's show.

I wish I knew the reasoning behind AudioControl's design of their meter, but as you said they are fairly expensive when you first invest in one and I'm guessing, but I would think they didn't add a bypass switch for cost reasons.
Like I wrote in the carsound forum on another subject, it's easy to speculate and offer suggestions in certain areas, but implementing certain changes or taking on the task yourself is a huge undertaking. I speak from experience, because I've done it. In this particular case, we are aware of the ups and downs of a system, but because we can't change the system ourselves, why not work with what we have so it doesn't become an issue? That's what I'm trying to do, so it's fair for everyone and offers an option when you want to compete... what's the harm in that?
Now you'll have two organizations that you can compete in that you know are completely fair and unbiased, offering similar results without any technical "glitches". I think it's a "win-win" situation for competitors... I hope everyone feels the same.

Moe, depending on how long it takes for you to clear the boarder you should be able to make it to Bellville in about 2 to 2 1/2 hours.
But to make life easier on you why not just come and stay here in Kingston free of charge. We have a extra couple rooms so you are more than welcome to stay with us. Then its only 45min to Red Ball and we will be going also.

I saw the AudioControl pressure sensor down at SBN. Neat unit and the ability to upgrade existing units to it is fantastic!
I am happy to hear that AudioControl will be able to compete on-par with the TermLAB. Competition breeds better pricing and better products.

Dave! I haven't forgotten about you my friend! I've been kinda tied up with other stuff (see my post in the Mindless Rumblings thread).
Has Larry Chijner contacted you yet?
Thaks for the offer Jon, I might just take you up on that...
