I still have all my kickers from 1992 and they still pound, never had any issues with them.
I have 4 8's and 4 free air 12's separates.
pack a punch so go with the new kickers you will be happy.

Never heard of audiopipe, but the 15" specs look great (1000W, good hz 18-300) looks promising and all, but I'm all for Ascendant audio. They have a new SPL woofer called the Havoc. It looks very promising, with a 1500W RMS, FS: 32hz, 3 year warranty, sd 867 cm square, SPL 91dB/1W, BL of 20 to name a few specs...It is $425 US+shipping though, and I didn't notice how cheap the audiopipe 15" was..now I'm thinking damn, that's cheap! If anything, I wouldn't buy the kicker. I'd spend the extra for the havoc, but that's just me. Plus this is all canadian money, and that'll always set you back. Kaption (canadian company) has some nice SPL woofers (10",12",15") that are 600W RMS, FS of 35-39 depends what ohm you buy and the size of the woofer, xmax of 17mm, comes in dual 2 and dual 4ohm, BL of 18...

Kaption is great, and the fact that they're Canadian is a bonus.
Yeah, when I saw the Audiopipe stuff, I felt the same way.
And for the price, even if the numbers are overstated,just dial it in to makei t work you the set-up.

ok, i don't mean to be rude here, but there are some very poor and broad generalizations made.
i don't know how those two stats indicate the performance of the sub at hand. if they list a frequency range of 18hz-300hz, we must first know if they are referring to f3, f6, f10, etc. and to top it off, actual power handling (not RMS) and extension is determined largely by the enclosure, so those stats can be very misleading.
once again, you are using specs where they don't necessarily matter. listed rms power handling, particularly for a sub that is considered spl oriented, matters very little. Fs of 32hz for an spl sub is a little low imo, but that depends on what vehicle you will be using sd for that sub is right in line with every other 15" sub. efficiency ratings are very misleading, as they can easily be skewed depending on the testing methods and do not actually tell you very much. although this doesn't necessarily apply to this sub as it is not one where you would be concerned about low end extension, we must consider how one increases efficiency: increase BL or decrease Mms, both of which will decrease your low end. and a single BL measurement is again, not a great indication of actual performance. the high motor strength is always important in spl competitions, but what happens when the coil progresses out of the gap? this is why bl curves from klippel and dumax are very valuable.
because? certainly a good performer in a large ported enclosure for a loud daily driver and can be had at a fairly inexpensive price.

anywho, that is my muck for the day. remember, t/s parameters are a valuable tool, but when you start making decisions on subs you have never heard based solely on those parameters, you could be leaving yourself disappointed.
