I bought and installed my avic-n1 yesterday. I know that I can play music at the same time as navigation but it does limit my functions then. Does anyone know of which cd changer I would need that could do the following:

- MUST have a IP-Bus (I think that's what it's called). Meaning it's not a different screen but it shows all the songs on my avic-n1 and i'm able to control it from there rather then a remote.
- MUST have MP3 (other wise it's useless to me)

If anyone knows, please let me know.

Thanks!

You just need one of the latest Pioneer Cd-changers, They come in 12 and 6 disk flavours. I think you are misinterpreting the fact that you have the ability to play mp3's AND use a cd-changer.

The thing is pioneer discontinued ALL of their cd - changers. I have no idea what the latest is. Some say FM modulator where you tune to a certain FM frequency and then you play it and control it from a small remote control that comes with the changer. I just want something that can be controled from the avic-n1 just as if the CD was in the avic-n1.

Miluni, Pioneer did not discontinue any of its' CD changers (I know this as I work for the company)! Just as Bzzliteyr mentioned, you could choose either a six disc or a twelve disc capacity changer (CDX-P680 or CDX-P1280) & it would connect directly to your AVIC-N1. This would allow you to use the navigation function as well as listen to a disc from the CD changer. Neither changer can play MP3 encoded CDs but that's what your AVIC-N1 is for! Let me know if you need help finding a retailer to help you out with your purchase.

Pioneer Guy: Ohh ok. I must have misheard. Took me a good half a hour to find cd changers on your site. Too bad they don't play MP3's. Any idea on when the dvd changers will come in or even mp3 changers?

Mp3 is pretty much a must for me and the cd changers don't have that. I'm looking for something where i can keep the full navigation functions going on at all times and listen to my mp3 cd(s) at the same time.

Any ideas?

Miluni, what the AVIC-N1 does is it takes the information of where you are going off the nav dvd, then puts it in memory. At this point you can take the nav disc out and then insert any mp3 disc you'd like. What this does, is allow to use nav AND use the mp3 player at the same time. I believe this is in the instruction booklet. Pioneer instructions are not always the clearest though!!I hope that helps you out. You don't need an mp3 "changer".
