AVIC-N1 vs D900
#2
The Pioneer is a screen built with navigation mainly in mind. The audio processing is rather lacking in this model.
The Alpine has a good audio section but needs an add-on for navigation.
Completely apples to oranges in comparison.
Decide what features are important to you and then pick the appropriate unit.
Things like;
-navigation
-crossovers
-eq's
-time alignment
-multi format videos
-# of pre-outs and voltage
-internal amp
-size of screen
-audio processing
-TV tuner
-type of inputs
-camera ready
-DSP's

i personally have an avic-n1. i'm very pleased with it. it's audio as mentioned needs improvement (audio performance, the way it looks is amazing) however audio performance is easy to fix. i put in a EQ and a line driver and it will beat the alpine's deck perofrmance any day. when it comes to navigation, in my oppinion pioneer has the neatest and overall best navigation, not to mention the user friendly interfaces throughout the screen.
