bass boost on amp. Void using this?

My buddy want's to install a 2 channel amp for his front components, and the amp has bass boost. He asked me a simple question of would it be a bad idea to use the bass boost at all. I wasn't really sure becuase I've never heard bass boost used with components. May as well turn it completly off right?

Yeah I told him not to use it in the first place, I don't really think bass boost should be used on components. He just wanted to know so he won't damage anything I guess
