If you are drawing full power from your alt., it will live a short life, then you have no choice but to get a new one.

The other thing, about cranking it up to show off. Since you don't have upgraded alt or battery, your voltage will drop severly, that will reduce headroom, make your amps go into clipping sooner, and destroy your speakers.

I do have an upgraded battery (stinger under the hood) but I know that what you explained is still going to be really bad.

yea im running into the same prob, my car only has a 130 amp alt. i had to upgrade to a 200 amp alt for 250 cdn rebuilt.

Is it true that optima has discontinued the compact bats, the ones made for hondas and ish. that would be sweat i could get 2 and put them behind the rear side pans in the cargo area.
People sometimes move out the way, i guess they think im a cop or something just from my flashing lights just cuz of the system. lol.

any imput?
