Battery

Hi,
I would run my new setup witch is a Jl audio 450/4 + DLS Ultimate A3.
Do I need a new battery or alternator to run this setup? I would like to listen to my setup at least 1-2 hours without having to start the car. What type of battery do I need? I got a toyota corolla 2003 CE and witch brand is the best for price/quality ?

Just get an Optima Yellow Top and be done with it. Two hours with car off will be ok if you dont blast it, but if you do, then it wont last too long. Good thing about the Yellow Top, you can abuse it, and it will still be good and recharge fully even if you drain it a 1000 times. If your alt is at least 90A, then you should be alright. If I had to blast it, I would turn my car on every once in a while for a little bit and rev it a little to recharge the battery.

Optima is a better choice than oddyssey ? My alternator is bone stock and I don't really know what amp it gives. normally on stock compact car what size of alternator they put ?

Optima Yellow Top is the industry standard sort of speak. It is always a good idea to upgrade the alt, depends how much you want to spend. You may leave the alt for now, and see how it works. You can always upgrade later if need be. For the two AB amps of moderate output 80A is kinda low, but like I said, you can wait and see. No rush to do the alt at once with the rest of your system.

Do the Big 3 and do an Odyssea battery... Spec to Spec the Odyssea is a better choice than the Optima... Optima does get props for being the originators of the glass mat no leak deep cycle design
