Best Amp for my Subs
I Am currently running (2) 12" UltraLinear's 600rms each. Im running a Rockford Fosgate P3001 Amp. Now i want a bit more power to them for some more punch. What is my best bet for bang for my buck because i dont want to brake the bank because id rather spend crazy money on mods.
Thanks
Anthony

what are the subs... dual 4 ohm voice coil? dual 2? single 4? thats more of whats important when finding the right amp to power your subs.
the sundown audio sae1000d does 1000Wrms at 1 ohm. and it comes in at like 400 bucks... and does not really break the bank by any means. you get what you pay for.
also kicker makes some pretty powerful 2 ohm amps. you might be able to pick up a 1250.1 in the for sale section from one of the members here for a decent price.

similar question
i have a similar question. looking to run a 2 ALPINE TYPE "R" SWR-1242D 12" DUAL VOICE COIL 3,000 WATT 4 OHM SUBWOOFERS. here are the specs
# 1,500 WATTS TOTAL OUTPUT
# 500 watts RMS
# Frequency Response: 23 Hz - 500 Hz
# Sensitivity: 87 dB
# Dual 4 Ohm Voice Coil Version
# Mounting Depth: 8"
# Sealed Box Volume: 0.7 - 1.0 cubic ft
# Ported Box Volume: 0.75 - 1.75 cubic ft
# Kevlar re-enforced Pulp Fiber Cone Assembly
# Santo-prene Rubber surround material stops un-wanted vibration noises and ensure clean sound
# Dual Voice Coil Design
# Cast Aluminum Frame
# Concealed Mounting Gasket SystemFrequency Response: 24 Hz - 500 Hz
looking to run a ROCKFORD FOSGATE P8002 2,400 WATT PEAK (800 RMS) 2 CHANNEL specs:
* 2,400 watt peak 2 channel amplifier
* 2 x 400 watts rms at 2 ohm
* 800 x 1 watts RMS @ 4 ohm
* MOSFET power supply
* Bass Boost: 0 - 18 dB
* Trans-ANA circuitry
* Frequency Response: 20-300 Hz
* CEA2006 Cpmpliant (all specs are lab tested and rated)
* Signal to Noise Ratio: >80 dB
* Preamp Outputs
* Removable Chrome cover
* Built-In ATC Fusing
* Built-in high and low-pass Crossovers
* Remote Punch Bass Boost
* Power Indicator and Protection LEDs
* Dimensions: 17.7 L x 11 W x 2.4 H
* THD @ 4-Ohm RMS: 0.08 %
will it work? or is there something better?? thanks!!!!

It can work although it is a class AB amplifier. Meaning it is going to produce copious amounts of heat (bad) along with the power (which it has ample). Heat from a amplifier is always going to be there no matter what, it is a natural byproduct of power production. The more the power, the more the heat, the longer the amp is run, the hotter it gets. This is what the #1 downfall to a sub amp of class AB design is, the longer and louder it is run, the sooner it will shut down due to the thermal protection circuitry saying enough is enough.
Recommended is a class D amplifier that produces the same or more amount of power and produces it with a far lower heat signature on the amp. While a class D can still go into thermal protection, it will in most cases be able to hang in there far longer that a conventional class AB amplifier.
I like and highly recommend the Digital Designs DDM1 amplifier. It is rated at 1200w rms into 1 ohm which is where a pair of dvc 4 ohm subs will wire to in a all parallel circuit.
