So i have decided to go totally bonkers on my new truck with high end speakers cuz in the past i always cheaped out and just loaded everythign with loud subs, but i dont have room for that this time around so i am going mostly for SQ.
The ideal plan is to do a 3 way system in the front door with possible custom building for a larger then stock midbass speaker in the 7"-9" size... I havnt decided to go passive or active yet and a 5 1/4 component in the rear
I have heard alot of this forum about focal, morel, and hybrid audio technologies and have looked at all of there websites and cant decide.
So if you were gonna choose which would you go with? I know there are alot of other things to consider like placement, amps, ect, but just give me blunt "what i think is best" answer. Any other suggestions are good to

 

I have to say Morel would be my choice, it's the most natural sounding of them all, and most impressive build quality.
No Bias here just ears.

 

Focal new K2P or Be could be a winner. Morel is also nice. Check out Dynaudio too, sounds good loud and natural as hell! All top level gear with different sounds!

 

Morel...haven't heard the hybrids yet, and Focal is very good, but I like Morel better!

 

why nit wait until spring?? come to a few sq comps demo some rides... my vote is for the Hybrid Clarus, but what do I know?

oh ya you can ask advitr about his k2p's.. He took them out and put in Hybrid after hearing my Truck, and Mutts car!

 

Morel would be my recommended choice.

 

look into the hertz mlk series, i prefer them over morel and focal

 

You can not go wrong with the items listed unless you don't audition them prior to purchase. If you end up liking Morel you may not be so fond of Focal, and if Dynaudio pushes your happy button does that mean Hertz wont?

Try to identify for yourself what the ideal system would do (do you have someones car in mind?) what is perfection for you. And then price and cost come into the picture (say a certain component set is the perfect set (it has a component PRICE) but it comes without a crossover you would either have to make a crossover or go full active (system COST went up))

 

Well my friend has Focal Utopia Be in his chev 1/2 ton and they sound amazing, thats all i really have to base of of right now and no one around here has morel or hybrid to demo and i to far away to go to SQ comps
Another question:
So whatever i choose would to go with would it be better to run it active off 2 Audison LRx 2.9s (one running the midbass and the other running the midranges biamped to the tweets w/ a 10 microfarad polypropylene capacitor as a filter) OR cuz run it passive w/ 1 LRx 2.9

 

Best I've heard are all home audio drivers.
