Best Sound Board In GTA?
#41
Well, I drove over to Selective Sounds yesterday and I can't say enough good things about the experiance. Davis was super helpfull and let me hear a bunch of really nice speakers (Focal, Polk, Morel). My personal favorite for Metallica and the Eagles was the Focal A1s! They did seem to get a little rough playing a track by the Chillies but that Give it Away song is pretty trashy. I thought my set sounded more like the KRs or the SR6500s so I guess it's mostly a matter of personal taste. Davis didn't put any pressure on me to buy anything and took the time to listen to what I have now as well as give me some recommendations on what I could try to make it work for me. Total class act!
I'm going to spend some time today trying different things and seeing what I can do to improve things. I'm also getting interested in trying an active set up. Does a CDA-117 or 9887 have everything I need to do this without buying a seperate crossover? The biggest complaint I have right now is there seems to be too much vocals coming from the tweets. I'll play with positioning and phasing today to see how far that gets me but I haven't ruled out those Focals or going active yet...
EDIT* I guess adding Imprint to my 9886 will do the trick.
