best way to pack sub for shipping?

I've sold a PL 15" Si and I don't have original box. Any suggestions to ensure the sub will arrive in it's current perfect condition?

I've used boxes from the LCBO. Tape the box up like crazy. Stuff the bottom with newspaper then wrap bubble wrap around the sub. Put the sub in the box and fill in the rest with newspaper. I've done this with many subs shipped all over the world and it has yet to fail.

Find a box the sub fits in, with about 2" on all sides. Layer the bottom with cardboard layers, a few layers ideally (say 5). Cover the piston-side of the speaker with a piece of cardboard, wrap it around the front of the speaker.

Fill the resto f the box with packing peanuts / bubble wrap or pack newspaper in there HARD. Without the box closed, the sub SHOULD be sitting in a 'cradle' of peanuts/whatever. The top should be about 1" from the lid, fill that with more packing.

Front edges of speakers like to get destroyed like here, resulted in me recieveing a cracked edge and bending my speaker chassis (mounting surface. As well, LOTS of people have gotten impact on the bottom of the box that resulted in the magnet shifting. So, excess layers of cardboard take a BEATING.

Seems a little excessive, but all you need is one retard in shipping to drop a package and you're sacked. Plus, extra packing hardly adds anything to weight.
