Bi-amping Hertz MLK-165

Bi-amping Hertz MLK-165
I am contemplating bi-amping my Hertz MLK-165. I am wondering however if the improvement in sound quality is worth the cost of another amplifier. does anyone have experience with the speakers?
i currently power my fronts (hertz) and my rears (focals) with a pdx 4.150 (150rms each @4 ohm).

I would still be using the cross overs provided. They come built to accept bi-amped systems. so my crossover points for the tweeters/mids would not change, simply the attenuation of the tweeters, and the clarity provided by not forcing my amps to work on such a broad spectrum?

The rule of thumb is is halfing the power of what your mids are getting and in your case that would be 75 wrms per tweeter. It also helps to compare the sensitivity between the mid and the tweet. Double or half the power = 3 db's gain or loss. Plus the tweets dont need lotsa power to get them going.
Potential to have better sound is there mainly due to having more tuning flexibility with amp gains. I dont think your Alpine amp will thank you and be better off with tweeter load being unloaded - not much of a load to free up. Either way sounds like a fun project.

i geuss i could always just pick up a pdx 2.150 and put that on my rears, and just put the 4.150 on strictly my fronts as suggested. i think i can pick one up for $300 new.
i'm basically at a point where I don't know what there is left to do to my system. i can go active and i can bi-amp. any suggestions on any significant upgrades left?

Another option is to put your 150.4 bridged on the front stage. That of course wont be bi-amping, but will give you some good power and headroom...
...or pick up another 150.4...and run one bridged to the mids only, and run the other amp with two channels dedicated to tweets and the other two channels to the rears. This way you get double the power to the front mids, and have your bi-amping fetish satisfied. Booyaka!!!

forgot to ask above,
would it be better if i just took out the crossovers for the MLK's, got the 2.150, and ran my system as three way sytem?
would that still work with coaxials in the back? or i geuss they should be switched over to just a woofer, since i can get the hertz woofer on its own.

bridged would be around 325watts RMS into each side. thats alot of headroom, lol
i know my rears are just filler for the most part. im thinking of just putting the 4.150 on the fronts alone and scrapping the rears. im just not sure if the Hertz are up for the job alone. your opinions on that??
btw, defro13, that install is looking amazing
