Blueskin Sound deadener?

Anyone tried or heard of this stuff. Got it from Home Depot and it looks similiar to seal and peal but with blue backing instead of aluminum.

I think original purpose for this stuff is roofing.

Nope, tried googling it but dint find anything about it. New product on the market??

Sounds very TAR-ish. Ta-dum-tss!!

Get it?? Me neither.

But i guess since its made to go on roofs, he can tolerate good temps, waterproofed well i would imagine. Better then using house floor deadner i guess.

How much per sq/foot or roll? I need to do my doors ;(

I've used it, it does work, not as well as the metal backed stuff, but it does work. and as long as you apply the primer properly, it won't come off like some people may think. Even if the surface is dirty(except grease)

spray the primer (or paint on--paintable primer) generously. allow tack-up time and apply blueskin only after primer has completely tacked up. once applied, apply pressure on entire surface by either rubbing it with your hand, or using a small rubber roller/applicator tool. DO NOT USE HEAT. this will just damage the blueskin, and flash the primer before it gets a chance to adhere. follow these directions and you are good to go. Cheap sound deadener.

I used 2 layers of that stuff in my neon last year, and gained .5 dbs, so it does work.

i heard of pinkskin and foreskin but never the blue skin.

stop using roofing materials in cars. it is not sound deadener. just cuz it sticks doesnt mean you should be sticking it every where.

they will ship if your not in the area too!!! great people very pliable! just bought 150 squarefeet of the stuff going to use it this week to sound deaden my car!!
