Bought some new CDs today
#1
I haven't bought a CD since I got internet at home in October 2000 and found Kazaa Actually, I probably haven't bought a CD for about 5 years. But after realizing that MP3 downloads and conversion and burning to a CD does audibly affect the sound quality, I decided to think of some of my favorite sounding discs and go the used CD store today. I also took some recommendations from the CD thread in the SQ forum. I bought:
Barenaked Ladies - Gordon. Awesome CD Listen to Crazy and it starts out with an acoustic guitar sweeping from the left channel across to the right. If you have a well-performing front stage, it will sweep across high and level. I had a copy which got stolen. I really recommend buying this disc.
Eurythmics - Greatest Hits. Recommended in the CD thread. The first track has wicked upper bass to it, plus some classic tracks. Worth the $8
Sarah McClachlan - Surfacing. Haven't listened to it today yet but her vocals are always very nice. Looking forward to it.
Jennifer Warnes - Famous Blue Raincoat. Also recommended. I've heard of this disc for years as being a good SQ one but never bought it. Look forward to hearing it.
Club Cuts 4 Okay, this is just a techno/dance CD from the early 90s but Spy in the House is my favorite dance tune. The beat is just addicting. And it has Baby Don't Hurt Me from the Night at the Roxy movie
Got the 5 for $40 taxes in. Not too bad at all. I found Eagles - Hell Freezes Over but didn't get it today. COuldn't find Paul Simon - Graceland or Evanescence though.

For myself, the best track on that CD is "More and More" by Captain Hollywood. Damn...my early Euro days...

You know that CD? Dude, we are way too much the same (lovin' the old Alpine subs too) Do you like Spy in the House? Just love that tune. And you are 100% correct about the Haddaway tune. I had a brain fart when I typed the first post. I actually had seen a Haddaway disc too at the used CD shop and remembered they did What is Love. That's a cool tune as well but I can't crank it up without feeling self-conscious that others are going to think I'm trying to be like the SNL guys LOL
I remember being back in Sask. in high school with my 88 Mustang GT. Had the loudest/coolest system in school and would always crank that disc, especially More and More. Was kinda neat to see teeny boppers on the street start groovin when I would get within eyesight.

Hey sux! how's it goin? LOL! anyways i've heard of 3 of the artists for sure. The Eurythmics, BNL, sarah and The Eagles. Howdy! I live right by Surrey Station and know of the store but didnt think they sold used. DOH! I went to one on Brunette Ave, across from Woody's Pub. 5 cds for $20 on their one table, but not alot are in too good of condition. The rest are around $8-10 each.
I plan on attending the SPL/SQ show at Boyzclub on the 27th, since I'm mostly into SQ

Congrats to your hubby! Team Shadow eh? Isn't that the one that pat28ca on here belongs to? Thanks for the heads up about the Cartunes show in Aug. If it's SQ as well, then I'll probably go. I used to go check out the SPL shows but I appreciate a nice looking install and such to go along with the stereo and I find too many ghetto looking cars at SPL shows Check out my sounddomain page for my former and current cars I've done systems in.
