I would say the best would be to use 3 diffent thicknesses of MDF. Each has it's own resonant frequency. By using different thicknesses you can decrease the cabinet resonances, which will get you more/cleaner bass.

^ A practice you surely have seen in some home speaker cabinets is varied thickensses for the baffle, back and sides, for this very reason. You don't really decrease the resonances but they get out.
I have also seen and built speakers with particle board laminated to MDF to take advantage of this as well.
