Boxing Day and beyond

I decided in late October that i deserved a sound system better than what came with my factory Subaru.

After sinking myself into all the product nuances, pricing and attending most of the install shops in the GTA and west area to gain an understanding of what installers do, recommend, brands, etc, I decided to wait until after Christmas to see if prices would decline significantly at local install shops.

I don't want to order through the US and be w/o warranty but still want to get a deal from the recent turn of events in the economic climate in the US. I can't do the work myself so I expect to pay shop rates for the install itself.

Do you foresee significant price drops from manufacters, down to Canadian distributers that will eventually lead to pricing which is more in line with US pricing?

I wouldn't suspect that many smaller shops will be offering Boxing Day deals similar to a Future Shop...or even East Hamilton Radio..but if you know of any that do in the GTA or west area (Burlington, Guelph, Milton, Hamilton etc) I love to hear about it as I've got $$$$ burning a hole in my pocket but want to stretch it as far as possible.

I have already been in touch with him and he does have excellent pricing, my concern is what do local install guys think when I walk in with all this stuff to put in my car that I obviously bought elsewhere. First question I'll have to answer is "why didn't you let me price that out for you?" and then me thinking but not responding "I did already back in October, you were much higher, so I chose to buy elsewhere" and then me thinking but never asking in this manner "do you think you can still do your best work on the install end after I undercut you on your profit from product sales?"

Its a tough call, ideally I'd love to see some install shops in the Mississauga-Burlington area get this competitive and still make money on both product and install....that would be my preference..but Rob appears to be able to save me hundreds of dollars at the moment...so he is definately an option.

I will pop into see Lee as I did buy my amplifier from him already. But his lastest greatest sale prices were still higher than those advertised at Kennedy HiFi's new online site. We'll see what Boxing Day brings...his staff did a great job installing my head unit and bluetooth microphone last year so my experience with his install work is very positive.

My deals are damn fine and by the looks of some of them, they will be gone by boxing day. I will be happy to supply you a great system and save you some huge $ at the same time.

I can understand this. My Subaru has the worst stock system I've ever heard. Ya, check Rob out. He hooked me up with some gear.

I buy from Rob all the time - it's better then dealing with huge markups in the GTA and fake **** on ebay - some places aren't bad but when you are prepared to purchase many items, they begin to get too greedy on the small things. I get annoyed by this. 8ft for 0/1 WTF is that BS plus 80% of them know jack about car audio.

Get your audio installed by a store locally. They don't need to know where you got it. You are looking for a pro job, regardless if it's their gear or not. The same principal applies so results should follow suit.

forbidden@telus.net

I will always be a returning customer to Rob - He is honest, prompt and very knowledgeable guy. To me he's the best option!

Thumbs up

If you already have good experiences with Lee doing the install stick with him.....he would obviously like to sell you product as well but if you can save $$$ over-all get the product where-ever you like.

I would suggest you price out a package deal from him to at least make sure you are getting the best over-all deal you can.........feel free to use my name when you are talking to him.....you won't be the first or the last....
