I'm looking to redo my trunk, and I've thinking between these two subs.. I'm just going with one, and it's going to be in the sparewheelwell. Not sure if i'll get a 12 or 15 yet, depends on the volumn, and what I can spare.

I don't want any bashin for the subs, I just want peoples help that have heard these subs before.

One Q though, I see some people turn their subs backwards in the box, what adv/dis is that? I like it for the looks...

Looks is the only real advantage, but in tight locations it can get you more airspace.

oh, and IDmax for sure, brahmas are nice, but the IDmax looks better inverted (damn sexy basket) and IMHO sounds better, as well as being much more efficient, so you can reasonably play it with 200 RMS and have it be loud and sound good or blast it with 1000 RMS and have it sound good and blow you away.

So Inverted, the sound will still stay the same and box design?

For space, I think I will have a lot with the wheelwell. Plus I can build up the floor if I need more space. So I think if I can fit a 15 in there, that will be my first choice. The IDMax do look good on the backside, that is what i'm leaning towards... Just need to find prices now on the web..
This will all be removable, as I have a GrandPrix GTP and is used for racing @ the track. MY whole trunk is going to be build, to be easily removed.

Or I leave it in my trunk, and make my car faster

I have an IDmax 12", and I ran it in a 2^ft sealed box for about a year with 1000W to it and it sounded really nice...not as loud as I expected, but fantastic SQ. I recently put it in a 3^ft ported box tuned to...ah..oh crap I can't really remember now...I think it's like 26hz and it's being driven with 6-700W and it still sounds fantastic...but REALLY loud...and REALLY low.
I can only imagine how loud it could get with 1000W on it again and tuned to maybe 32hz.
Great sounding sub and I play anything from rap to metal to classical and jazz and the sub loves 'em all.

SI - How much power will you be running and how loud do you want the car to get?

i used to own a brahma 12 MKII and it was amazing. i ran it first with about 200 watts, in approximately a 2.5cu.ft box tuned to 27 Hz, and it got surprisingly loud with that little power, certainly not eye shaking loud, but definately louder than a lot of other subs would be with that amount of power. then i powered it with 1000 watts, and it got damn loud in both the ported box as mentioned about, and in about a 1.4 cube sealed box. SQ was amazing the whole time i owned it as well.

ive never heard an IDMax, but from what people say it is an equally good driver. i think you would be happy with either.

I have no amp yet, so the power I will be running to it, can be anything right now. I'm gussing a 1000W amp is what I am lookin for. Amps are easier to come by, then subs by the looks of things. I'm not going to go in and try and beat people for loudness, but I still want it to be nice and deep bass. Louder the better I can get from the sub.
I have two sets of componets upfront that get 100RMS to each.

Both subs will look really good inverted too!

So from what I gather, both subs are great, so it all comes down to, where the hell can I buy them the cheapest?
